Hello, my name is Laura Clair and I am a 6th and 7th grade Science teacher at John C. Coonley elementary school in Northwest Chicago. This year is my sixth year teaching at Coonley and I am thrilled to be working with such an amazing collaboration of people! I am looking forward to all the learning and adventures we will be having in 6th and 7th grade. Math and Science are my favorite subjects and I am so excited to share different thoughts and ideas in my classroom. I cannot wait to learn all about each of my students but until then here is a little about me. I was born and raised in Chicago and enjoy all the different foods Chicago has to offer, especially hotdogs (no ketchup) and pizza! I live with my husband, our dog and cat, and our one year old son. Outside of school, I love working with animals and use my spare time to foster abandoned newborn kittens. I went to college at NEIU where I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Biology. I am licensed to teach the sciences to grades 9-12th with a middle school endorsement in math and science. I did my clinical experience at Garvy elementary school and I did my student teaching at Amundsen high school.
